BOOK COVER

  • by
A red book, "Crazy Rich Asians," stands prominently on a wooden shelf, while two other books lie adjacent on the same shelf.

The project was assigned to create a new design for a book of my choice to understand the printing materials and process.

The aim of redesigning the book cover was to gain insights into printing materials and processes, as well as to grasp effective letter layouts across the span.

A book is standing, displaying both its back and front covers. Yellow lines adorn the covers, conveying a Chinese/Asian aesthetic with intricate patterns. A stylish black lady, wearing sunglasses, is featured prominently, adding a touch of sophistication. The author is introduced on the back cover, completing the presentation.

The book underwent a redesign, incorporating textured images to evoke a realistic book sensation on both the front and back covers. Details such as the author, barcode, and price were added to enhance the overall book aesthetics.

The barcode holds significant importance, requiring a high-contrast ratio against the background. It must consistently feature black and white colours to ensure proper scanning functionality.
